Quarter 1, Week 1: Remembering September 11th

Think about the September 11th documentary that we watched in class, and visit the following website:

http://www.911-remember.com/

Why do you think it is important for Americans to remember what happened on September 11th?  In addition, how exactly should it be remembered?  Should our memories be based on the events that happened that day, or based on how America responded and what has happened since then?  Explain why in a paragraph of at least 6 to 8 sentences.

  1. September 11 was a tragedy for the United States and Americans should remember it by the fact that America stayed strong. September 11 was a day that terrified the United States and brought such huge fear to Americans that they were afraid to leave their homes, but we stayed strong. Many people died September 11th but they died saving someone and we should celebrate them, because of their bravery and courage. September 11th should be celebrated because it shows how strong and brave America is. It also showed that America will not be let themselves be in danger because the United States will not let anyone hurt our country and they will do anything in their power to keep American safe. September 11 caused huge damage but that should not be remembered because what got damaged is not more important then how we dealt with it. In my opinion America was so brave and strong, they believed in their country to be saved by the president and didn't give up on flying airplanes or getting out of their houmes. September 11 should be remembered by the bravery Americans had and the power of the United States .
