Quarter 4, Week 7: Presidential Lies

Is it ever ok for a president to lie to the American people?  If so, what circumstances make lying ok?  If not, why not?  Explain your answer in detail.

  1. Yes, it is okay for a president to lie, but only under very important circumstances. A president should only lie to protect the country and their people from being harmed, in any way. A president should tell us a lot because; we deserve to know what is going on in this country we live in. The president though should not give out information that will kill millions of people. People over-react and giving out facts that will kill millions will destroy others. People should stay calm because panicking won't make things any better. The president should tell us 80% of what is going on, so the people will try to improve their habits to make this country a safer and better place to live in.

  2. I think that it is not okay for a president to lie to the American people. I think we deserve to know everything that is going on because we live here. If something happens we won't even know why. We don't need to know every little detail, but the most important things we do.
