Eventhough we have just begun reading The Crucible, you have learned quite a bit of background information on the Salem Witchtrials and the time period. Many people consider the play's message to be "Universal and Enduring." Why do you think people would say that? What about the play's message makes it both of those things?
*If you aren't sure what either of those words means - look them up!
The Crucible is enduring in my opinion because its a long play. Their are so many things going on, but again everything is focused on one particular problem. The problem would be, people think the girls are witches. I believe its universal as well because the fact that people think the girls are witches is having a huge effect on everyone. The people are scared and afraid of what will happen. The family members of the girls are scared and worried for their child as well.
