Quarter 1, Week 5: The Bill of Rights

The first ten amendments in the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights.  These amendments protect individual freedoms so that the government cannot become to controlling of Americans' everyday lives.  First, visit the following link and read the Bill of Rights:

Then, explain which amendment YOU think is the most important.  Remember to explain why that amendment is the most important as well.

  1. i say the first amandment is by far the most important. it gives every one the right to say whatever they want. saying what you believe is important and its what makes us American. also giving freedom of religion makes us more open minded and helps us learn about different cultures around the world in our own country.

  2. I say th fifth amandment because it prohibits soldiers from quartering in your house in time of war.this is very important because you don't want a total stranger in your house eating your food, using your shower and bed, and also you dont want to be buying him clothes and food. you would also havae to pay twice as much for bills and food and other necessities.

  3. I believe the fourth amendment is one of the most important amendments out of all. The 4th amendment is the security of their belongings. People should have the right to privacy when something belongs to them, no matter what it is. It is important for us people to have our privacy and security to our things because its something that we may not want to share with others. Its something that guarantees us that is only ours and no one could take that away. No matter what. People do not want others to go through their stuff without telling them 1st that's why we need our privacy.

  4. I think that the first amendment is the most important because this is a free country where everyone should be able to believe or say anything that they have an opinion about. The reason why so many people love this country is because we are not forced to believe in one religion or a person in charge, and also because everyone has opinions and should be able to speak them without being killed or punished.
