Quarter 1, Week 3: Causes of the American Revolution
Over the next couple of days, we will be discussing the causes of the American Revolution. For your blog post this week, explain which cause you think was most significant to the colonists' decision to fight for independence. (HINT: Define the cause you choose first, and THEN explain why it was so important.) Happy Blogging!

I choose the Intolerable Acts which means that it gave british too much power. the british army could just go into your house and sleep in your bed and eat your food for no money. the colonist also had to buy them whatever the soldiers wanted and i think that that was going too far.I think that because the british had already put up high taxes on food and the colonists did not make a lot of money they could hardly feed themselves. After this act the colonist rebelled against Britain causing the American Revolution.
ReplyDeleteThe Boston Tea Party is when the colonists dumped tea into the harbor. That caused tea companies to go bankruptcy. But it also caused Britain to want to increase the taxes. It was a big effect on British because they lost a lot of money and they had no more tea. Tea was one of the most expensive things to buy and they lost it all. British were extremely mad because they lost money and gained nothing in return.
