I think one of the most crucial causes of the Civil War would be the South's secession from the North. It really impacted the North's government and armed forces by a lot, meaning that the North's forces were crippled by the South's army and secession.
i agree with you ed it was a very crucial moment when the south seceded from the north but the reason they seceded was because of slavery so it's mostly because of slavery.
