I think that the cause of the civil war was the Antietam. This was the bloodiest war fought. Also more men lost there life fighting in this war. This is the time where Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. This was the most important outcome of the war.
i agree with you it was a significant part of the war because thats when people realised how bad the situation was. that was when abraham lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation which makes it more important.
