Rosa Parks

I believe that the most important event in the 1950's would have to be the bus event when African American Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the city bus. I think this was the most important event because it started the Civil Rights movement. Once Rosa Parks was arrested, all African Americans went on a protest and walked to wherever they needed to go, they refused to take the bus. Therefore, the buses ran empty for quite some time until the decided to desegregate the buses. This is why I think that the Rosa Parks incident was the most important event in the 1950's.
