Quarter 3 - Week 2!
Last quarter we read The Great Gatsby and were able to see what life was like in the Roaring Twenties for the wealthy who did not care about anyone but themselves. Now, we're watching Cinderella Man, and we're able to see life is the Great Depression. What are the pros and cons of living in each decade? (*Think about more than just the money.) Be specific and come up with at least 3 pros and 3 cons for each decade.

The Great Depression had a lot of cons. One con is that they had no money. Some people had no shelter or food either. It was hard for them to even survive. During the great depression people didn't have health care. It was hard for people that were sick to go back to work the next day and not be able to get their paycheck because they were sick. Parents were always stressed out because they could not provide for their children and themselves. People during the great depression did nothing for entertainment. Survival was their everyday goal. One pro is that people appropriated what they had.
ReplyDeleteDuring the Roaring Twenties there were a lot of pros. Some pros were that people were wealthy, and more educated than the people during the great depression. People during the roaring twenties had more opportunities. They could go out and have a good day in the outdoors, unlike the people during the great depression. Some cons during the roaring twenties is that people didn't appreciate what they had. People wanted more and more, they were not satisfied with what they had.
